About Me

I have been on a journey and I’ve decided to share the experience with you.  The good, the bad and the ugly.  Success and failure.

Welcome to my site!  About meMy name is Dawn and I am the mom of 3 children, spanning 2 generations!  I’ve worked in corporate jobs, been a stay at home mom, been a working single parent and a foster parent.  Currently I am working full time to support our family while my husband is home with our daughter.

I was raised in a typical family with both of my parents working in union careers.  Despite that, I seem to have been born with a very strong entrepreneurial spirit.  I have been on a work from home journey since about 2000.  I’ve looked at a lot of different opportunities:  stuffing envelopes (I know, right?!), home party businesses, networking companies, mlm’s, affiliate marketing, selling blogging systems.  You name it, I’ve heard of it and probably tried it.  I’ve made a few dollars here and there, but nothing consistent enough to support my family with.  I used to say that I failed at a lot of things, I now say that I’ve learned a lot along the way – what works for me and what doesn’t work for me.  And I am still searching.

I have discovered a cycle with my search for a work from home income.  I find something that someone I like is doing (and succeeding at) and I think it could work for me.  I sign up, pay the fees, buy in to the program and …. nothing!  Once I realize that I have to go out and sell this to people, I lose interest.  The main reason is that I’ve been trying to use someone else’s passion for my own success.

Now I am on a journey (and getting closer by the minute) to finding my own passion.  Once I can define that, I have no doubt that I will be able to make money focusing my time and energy there.  I want big success now and as a result, I get frustrated with my lack of progress.

While living on the west coast of Canada, my family and I enjoyed going to the ocean and collecting river rock that’s been tumbled by nature.  I was then introduced to the idea of wire wrapping and my dream of supporting my family by selling one of a kind, custom made (by me) wire wrapped pendants.  I’ve made a few.  Sold a few.  And learned new techniques.  Now I am questioning my ability to be successful, so it’s difficult to keep making pieces.

I am researching yet another idea, that I really do feel is a great fit for my interests.  I’m hoping to sign up for the course

This blog has changed over the course of the last few years, but I’ve found my focus now!  This will be a place for me to showcase my one of a kind, hand wrapped by me, pendants.  Most of the stones that I use have been collected and tumbled by me from the Fraser River in BC, Canada.

I have also created a freelance writing career.  Stay tuned, as this is a new venture for me!

My entrepreneurial spirit is still very strong and I am still on this journey.  Connect with me on my personal facebook page, as well as my fan page.  I look forward to getting to you know you better.

  1. Congrats on starting your blog to online success! May God bless your endeavor the way He has mine.

  2. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of
this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times
it’s hard to gett that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance.
I must say you have done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely
fast for me on Internet explorer. Exceptional Blog!
